Hi Everyone,

I just mailed off my AOS with all the supporting documents including my EAD form.

I know people have said it takes about 8 weeks. How am I notified? Via mail? Is there anywhere to call in about 5 to 6 weeks to get a status on everything? Or a website that shows status?

Hi, you will receive I797c for each form you submitted. On that form, there will be a receipt number and it will say that they received and is in progress and/or you need to go do Biometrics (yes more fingerprinting) or hopefully not, need more information.

If nothing further for you to do, you can then check the progress at www.uscis.gov and click on the Check Case Status link. You would then enter that receipt number.

If you would like to call and check, the I797c will also list their number.

Good Luck.

They mail the 797c? How long after them receiving my stuff does the 797c get sent out?

Plus the biometric stuff that will be sent to me saying I need it to be done?

We just filed AOS with EAD & AP. We received 3 I-797c's about 10 days after the USPS tracking shows they were delivered. We then received a separate notice with the biometrics appointment date, time & location.

Thanks so much,

What was the cost of the Biometrics stuff that you needed to do?

Did you send a Money Order or Personal Check?

We sent a personal check, that way I see when its cashed.

We sent a personal check $1070 with the AOS packet. That includes the biometrics. We also included G-1145 so we received an email with the Case # when they received it. The online information for the Case # states the following:

"On February 11, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."
