mother in law on tourist visa

My mother in law is flying to the U.S. from Brazil next week. She is coming on a tourist visa. My husband, who is currently waiting on his 10 year green card, is flying with her. They are flying into Houston. Can he go through the immigration line with her or will they have to go through separate lines? She speaks no English. If she does have to go through the line alone should we write a note in English for the officer to know where she is going, who she is staying with, etc...?

He should be able to go with her; it willmean they both have to wait in the longer "tourism" line rather than the US citizen/ greencard holder line.

They can go together to whatever line is shorter/quicker, either tourists line or PR line.

My mom went with me to green card line, no problem. She was a tourist visa holder.
