Good Morning everyone, I have a question to ask. I have a friend who's husband has over stayed his tourist visa. He and her got married in June. They are in the process of doing their paperwork. They want to go on a cruise really soon. While they are doing the process is it possible for him to go on a cruise right now or is it not a good for him to do that until he gets his greencard.

He should NOT leave the country unless he's issued an AP or his PP is stamped as a PR, CBP

do check passengers disembarking ships that traveled overseas & a valid passport is needed

by PRs to travel in & out the US, the atty is incorrect.

He can get stuck outside with a ban for the overstay

Absolutely not without advanced parole

Any cruise that leaves the country must go through customs and immigration to get back in the USA. I recently went on a cruise to JA. I would not chance it, now matter waht anyone tells you.

There was a story not too long ago about a VJ couple that took a honeymoon cruise after their marriage. The wife was not allowed back into the USA and was sent back to Russia.

And he subsequently ended up moving to Russia
