LOVE "wanker"!

It makes me laugh my head off when I see people with that as a surname over here. It was the name of a radio host in Indy and on a sign it had the word Wanker in big letters. Almost peed my pants, I can tell ya!

A college I briefly worked at here had a Wanker prize giving day. No joke. When I told them, they didn't find it funny. I found it :lol:

Talking of the name Randy. I find it hilarious too, but my son has a friend here in the US called Rusty. Can I remember it correctly? NO! I've repeatedly called him Dusty and Randy, to the point where I've actually said to him "I'm really sorry, but I can't ever remember your name correctly, it's really nothing personal!". He's a good kid actually and finds it funny, but still...

I remember going there with my mum when I was little. Peter Pan's Playground brings back memories. Oh and going on the train on the pier-I loved it til it burnt down. I don't know if they ever

replaced it.

Lol I'm looking at that list again (was having a drink or two when I wrote it last night.) I must come across like a " fisherman's wife " I do use other words too(couldn't use those in the classroom when I taught) but they are def on my list when necessary.

Peter Pan's Playground! Wow, yes it had a "radical" (well radical for S-O-S) overhaul about fifteen years ago and apart from that is still the same. The Golden Hind ship is still there...looking a bit old and crusty in that way that seaside towns do best.

The train is running again as far as I know although I think the pier had yet ANOTHER fire a while back but I think it affected the end rather than the start of the pier.

Ah Sarfend, if only you knew how much I don't miss you.

When Jonny was here he called my Mimi (cat) a buggerlugs. That word really stuck with me. He told me it's the most Yorkshire word there is.

When I was growing up I always preferred Brit-coms to our sit-coms. Since I was about 7 I was already saying things like washing powder, swotty, 'not a sausage', motorway, among others I can't think of at the moment. People would look at me like and now that I am marrying a nice English muffin (well ok a Yorkshire pudding:P) everyone's pointing out to me LULZ YOU BE TALKING ALL ENGLISH NAU!!!!!!! Ok guys, if you had paid any attention to me in the last 30 years, I have ALWAYS talked like this, buggerlugs being the only addition.

Jonny has been picking up a few words from me though. He slips and says Ya'll and there have been a few Tex-Mex words cumin = comino
