Hello! I had my interview today. Everything went smoothly but while they called us for fingerprinting they did not asked for the passport size photographs from me and afterwards I realized. My question is is there any problem in it or do they print the pictures we submit to the NVC on the visa?

Thanks to everyone in advance :)

Typically they take pictures from you when they complete your fingerprints, the second time you are called up they verify that they have all your info- including pics.

They said you are approved and kept your passport, right?

The CO was a good person but seems to me very reserved and silent. He asked me three questions and did not even asked me for the wedding pictures or anything. He said you will receive your passport in three weeks. I was done and going back. My wife was a bit confused and she turned back again and asked that is our visa approved? He answered YES :) We were not given any sort of slip..

What does that mean to you?

Keep an eye for updates in CEAC, do not expect any today, but very soon it should change to AP and then a day or two later change to Issued, if you get those updates then everything is ok, but also keep an eye out in case the embassy calls or emails asking you to send pictures

I find it difficult to trust the embassy since things get messed up all the time, the embassy lost our passport pictures less than 5 minutes after we handed them over, but I would try to put faith that you will have your visa by the end of the month

best of luck brother

It went to AP right after the interview. In your case, did you submitted the photographs to the NVC? And how many pictures did they took at the medical from your husband?

Just three questions.

1. How did you guys met, was it a love marriage or arranged?

2. What other countries have you visited except SAU?

3. How long did you stayed in Malaysia?

The CO was continuously typing and reviewing the paperworks at the same time. Overall it was a great experience and the interview was like 5 to 6 mins.

Best of luck for you :)

Lol we had our interview today too. I think I might have seen you and your wife, we rode in the bus together to the embassy and also back to the pick up area.

My wife got the same questions, plus "are you related" and questions about where I work and what I do in the US. He asked her when was the last time you met him and when she said he's here with me right now, he asked for me and I went up and said hello. He didn't ask me anything just said that he's satisfied with all the documents (guy was a brunette with a receding hairline and blue eyes) and that she's approved but because our 2nd wedding anniversary is a few days away, he is going to wait until he processes her case so "it's easier for you". I assume this meant she won't be getting a conditional greencard but I'm not sure.

I asked him if it's ok for us to stick with the normal course and not postpone the processing because I had to return to the US for work and I'd prefer not to wait until the end of the month. I guess I was too bold and mentioned I thought the normal course of time was 7-10 days and he said it's increased now. The guy was nice enough to go and double check but he said that this is the normal procedure.

So now I'm flying back to the US alone again and will have to come back sometime in March I guess once my wife gets her passport mailed to her house.

Checked online and I don't see "AP" anywhere. Just "complete" under IV application and the 2 "N/A"s.

First of all congrats on your interview. I hope and pray all of yours go smooth. So now I can assume why the interviewer asked me for 3 weeks to pick my passport. You mean that your status is still not updated to AP?

Thanks, hoping the same for you. My wife's status on the CEAC "visa status check" site says "ready" with a status update date of 2/10. This means that the file hasn't been touched since the interview date, lol. So it's not AP and it's not "issued", it's just hanging there as if the interview hasn't happened yet. The CO said he wanted to wait until after my wedding anniversary date to begin processing and it seems like that is exactly what he will do! Very different from your case, I believe. I feel very sorry to hear that they are making you wait. I can understand with what expectations usually people go for the interview and that's sad. But on the same time I am happy for you that you will get IR-1 for your wife that to me is better than CR-1. So that is a good sign I hope and pray that you get your stamped passport back very soon InshAllah :) best of luck bro and remember me in your prayers
