Original Marriage Certificate @ Interview

Hello,

I'm asking this way too early, but I am preparing a packet I am sending my husband with what was submitted to the Phoenix Lockbox and few other documents he will eventually need. Does the London Embassy require the original marriage certificate, or is a certified copy of the marriage certificate adequate?

I ask because, we were informed that we could only ever get the one original (the nice fancy one in parchment color) and told not to damage, laminate and etc. All others would have to be certified copies-from a copy machine reduced and then a notary style stamp from the County (married in Arapahoe County, Colorado).

I rather not risk the original document through the mail, but I will if absolutely necessary.

We got married in Washington and will never have the original, only a certified copy. The original is kept in the state archives. Not that the certified copy is much to look at - it was run off a regular office printer and then stamped by the clerk at the desk. It cost $4. I was hoping for something more fancy, but hey ho.

So a certified copy must be acceptable I guess.

We got married in CT, pretty much the same story as the above poster--never even seen a fancy version of it, just a copy that says it's a true transcript with a seal and signature of the (deputy) town clerk. We sent photocopies of this to USCIS and the NVC and the "original" copy is what I'll be taking to the interview.

You just have to send a copy to the NVC for the packet and then my husband took the original with him to his interview. They made another copy of it and handed it right back to him with his certified birth certificate, etc.

We sent a Copy to NVC and I took the original to the interview with me I made photo copies of each document and I guess the lady asked me for photo copies as well I got my originals back.
