Advice on changing passport after marriage in usa

If anyone has any Advice on name change for a uk citizen passport to married name. Any help would be amazing I'm getting so confused !

I've been trying to look into it and can't find much information and what I do find I get a little confused

Is it best to wait until green card is approved or to do while awaiting?

I am not sure...I've seen people doing both.

I guess that if you change it after the GC you have to call USCIS and tell them and probably submit a petition again.

I haven't change my last name... I don't mind if they call me with his but on paper I have mine.

BUT IT'S JUST ME!!

Remember though that when you change it here, you have to change everything in your home Country.

And I'm sooooo done with petitions and paperwork XD

Apply for AOS in the married name despite not having changed it on the passport or anywhere else.yet. Keep your passport for photo ID until you get through the greencard. You need it for various things.

To change your passport eventually, you have to mail your current passport off to the UK. You don't want to be without it while you need it for immigration things, bank, driver license, etc..

As I was doing mine before they changed the fees for overseas passports and I had a return flight booked in my maiden name for the Christmas following our marriage. I went back on maiden name passport, went to passport appointment In London that I had organized about a month before hand and four hours later got passport in new name, booked one way flight back to us in married name passport in order to have flights originating in us from now on.

This doesn't save you any money anymore as they have made getting passport cheaper when overseas but it did mean that I got it without worrying about it getting lost in the post.
