Timeline

Although largely just lurked on this thread, I got approved today and wanted to thank everyone for your help in this process. This site provides an invaluable resource (not to mention just making you feel like you're not alone in wading through the forms and bureaucracy). Good luck to anyone still waiting.

TN to GC Timeline:

  • 6/2013 - TN Status Renewed for 3 years
  • 6/2014 - Married in US
  • 2/5/2016 - Sent I-130/I-485/I-131/I-765 to Chicago Lockbox via FedEx
  • 2/9/2016 - FedEx confirmed delivery
  • 2/16/2016 - Received NOA1 for all documents (via e-mail and text)
  • 2/26/2016 - Received notice of biometrics appointment for 3/7/2016
  • 3/02/2016 - Walk-in biometrics appointment completed
  • 4/12/2016 - E-mail notification of I-131 and I-765 (card ordered)
  • 4/22/2016 - Received EAD/AP Combo Card
  • 09/14/2016 - E-mail notification of interview date
  • 10/17/2016 - Interview
  • 10/17/2016 - E-mail notification of I-485 approval
  • 10/24/2016 - Green Card in hand!

Really short interview only 2 miles from my house. I had everything but didn't need to show anything. The officer did a final security check...and stamped approved on the checklist. She signed about 3 things and said except the card within 90 days. FINALLY!!

I finally have an interview for my AOS adjustment :)....I am so happy <3

This is the best early BDAY gift I can ever ask for <3

Ohh shoot they keep the letter...let me think. Bring your copies of the 129 packet and aos packet. Just in case something is missing on their end. She verified medical was in there. She asked all the yes/no questions on last page of the 129-drugs,guns,terrorism, etc. Asked for his parents names. Whats our home address and where does he work.

I had bank statements, utility bills, recent pics from different seasons, marriage license, family medical coverage proof. She didnt look at anything I brought.

Congrats to all the people who got approved or have received interview notices. Our case is still pending, getting a bit frustrated now.

My case is the same, i am thinking about making an appointment to field office, to find more information, because my case is out of processing time... not sure... really frustrated...

Did you try to call USCIS and ask to speak to Tier 2 person? I know it does nothing about getting the process done quicker but they can at least tell you where your file is physically.

Yeah, thank you! I am going to call uscis again. I did call them but I didn't ask to speak with tier 2. I should call before making an appointment. I thought that my case is the field office that i went to get fingerprints done? I better call tier 2. Thank again

Thanks everyone...just hold and stay focused on other things like you have been. We both just kept working, traveling and just enjoying life while waiting. Once you get to the interview, you will be so confident and happy its over.
