Hi all,

My mother is filling form n400 based on 5 years rule. She is a housewife. She don't work outside.

In part 1. A. Can the mailing address be the same name (c/o) as my mother but different address because she lives two different places (wichita ks and larned ks) ?

In Part 7. information about employment and school what she should indicate. Unemployment or N/A ?

In Part 12. Signature- my mother usually sign with her own language in cursive writing which is not english. Is it ok to sign the same way she do everywhere or does she needs to write her normal name in english.

Please i want some reliable answers if you have any idea or had the same situation. We want to send the form as soon as possible.

Thanks

Hi all,

My mother is filling form n400 based on 5 years rule. She is a housewife. She don't work outside.

In part 1. A. Can the mailing address be the same name (c/o) as my mother but different address because she lives two different places (wichita ks and larned ks) ?

At which address does she regularly receive mail? If that address is different from the Physical Address, you should put that as the Mailing Address but if she regularly receives mail at her Physical Address, leave that part blank or just put "SAME AS ABOVE"

Either way, I think you should choose which address she'd prefer to receive mail at. Either choose (1) the place where she lives most of the time, (2) the place where she receives most of her mail, or (3) the place which meets both #1 and #2

In Part 7. information about employment and school what she should indicate. Unemployment or N/A ?

I typed in Homemaker for this part and left the rest blank. At my Naturalization Interview, the Immigration Officer asked me if I had ever had a job and I said "No" and I remember her writing on my form what looked like "Homemaker" as well in red ink.

In Part 12. Signature- my mother usually sign with her own language in cursive writing which is not english. Is it ok to sign the same way she do everywhere or does she needs to write her normal name in english.

I'm not sure about this part. When I first got here and applied for a Social Security Number, I was asked to sign my full name which was completely different from my signature back in the Philippines. Since then, I've used that signature for all documents.

Please i want some reliable answers if you have any idea or had the same situation. We want to send the form as soon as possible.

Thanks

Thanks F & J for the information. But i just remember to ask another question about the tax file information. My mother filed tax jointly with my father for all 5 years but she don't have her own income. For part 11. 7(A) does she put no.

Thanks

This question doesn't just cover the past 5 years. It asks whether she has EVER not filed her taxes since she became a Permanent Resident. How long has she been a Permanent Resident? Did she file her taxes every year since then?

If she filed taxes for EVERY year she has been a Permanent Resident then the answer should be No.
