Thank you for the links, LnO, I already have every single one of them bookmarked, and am almost ready to know the information by heart from so much rereading... My simple question was will I have a paper document from NVC listing the exact documents for MY case that they need BEFORE I send the AOS and IV package. Since I`m doing everything as quickly as I can, I will not be waiting on their mailings - right after I have the IV fee showing as PAID I`m sending off the package. That`s all. I am fairly confident I`ll have everything needed but just to make sure, you never know with NVC officials...

Anyway, I am very excited things are finally moving on. I am also getting promoted at work so I`ll be making more money yay! Do I have to present extra evidence that I am being promoted at work to NVC now? Or maybe give mom a new official employment letter to present at the interview in evidence that I`ll be even more capable of taking care of her? What do you guys think?

This should help:

Thank you, LnO!

So basically, the answer to my question is no. No, they did not send me the EXACT list of the EXACT documents relevant for my case. What they sent is that list from your thumbnail, which obviously is a general checklist for God knows how many types of cases, and it is up to the petitioner/applicant to magically know what documents to send and hope they are not going to later get an NVC checklist for more documents... So what you gotta do is go by that list sent by NVC in their Welcome letter and then go to the website page

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/petition.html

and read from there all the requirements and all the detailed info and basically try to figure out what documents to prepare that are specific for your own case.

I also learned and wanted to share another VERY important thing that I did not read in any of the guides here in visajourney but saw in many people`s recent comments - it has been confirmed that once you pay your AOS fee, you can mail your IV and AOS package right away. There is no need to wait for the IV fee to be unlocked or for DS-260 to be available for filling out online. This saves A TON of time in the NVC process. That`s just what I did a few days ago, and I`ll keep you guys posted what follows.

Blessings to you all!

But did you confirm that they will review the documents even before submitting the DS-260 ?

If not, then there is really no advantage to sending them in advance. They are just sitting there and NVC take 30 days review them.

As per NVC flowchart, the review documents once DS-260 is submitted. Just my 2 cents!!!

Here is an excerpt from another person`s timeline. They sent their docs right after AOS fee:

NVC case number: 2015-02-04
Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : 2015-02-04
Pay AOS Bill : 2015-02-05
Submit DS-261 : 2015-02-05
Sent AOS Package : 2015-02-09
Sent IV Package : 2015-02-09
Scan date : 2015-02-10
Receive IV Bill : 2015-03-03
Pay IV Bill : 2015-03-06
Submit DS-260: 2015-3-12
Case Completed at NVC : 2015-03-20

Notice it took three weeks for the IV bill to be invoiced after the documents were received at NVC. After the DS-260 was submitted it took only EIGHT days for case complete!!!

actually paying of fees and reviewing of documents are two seperate process. The nvc start the review of documents once they receive them they do not wait untill the iv fee is paid and the ds-260 is fill out
If you think they are going to review your documents right away because you waited untill all the fees have been paid they will not. The amount of time for them to review the document will be the same. Which actually will make your case take longer at the nvc ,then if you would of sent them in before the Iv fees were paid and the ds-260 is fill out.

You are so very correct. Please do not wait to pay the IV bill before sending in your package. I was told by the NVC to go ahead and send the AOS package right away. That's when the clock starts ticking. My friend waited and lost so much time only to be told she shouldn't have waited for the iv bill. Good luck everyone

So yes, I believe this to be true! I am praying for a speedy NVC process! I cannot WAIT to see my sweet mom, it`s been over seven years that we have not been together on the same continent :)

Yay!!! I got the IV fee unlocked and paid it! NVC just now sent me an email saying that the DS-261 has been reviewed and here is your IV invoice! Things are progressing!

I was thinking of calling them and asking them to review the form over the phone but they did it before me lol! And here I thought it was going to be a couple of weeks if not more before they moved the case forward! So obviously the guides here are not quite correct as far as times are concerned, or maybe I hit an NVC freeway fast lane somehow lol.

Now I wait to see how long it will take them to process the documents I already sent them, and to see when the DS-260 will become available. Happy!!!

Write us, guys, anyone who has any news already? Am I the only one on here whose case is moving? There are at least 8-10 other people in our timeline that got created for the January 2016 filers! :energy:

I'm a naturalized citizen and I have both Alien # and registration number on the naturalization certificate.
While filling I-130, Q.10 of I-130 asks for Alien #.

Does it still need to supply that now that I'm a citizen?
Just wanted to make sure, it will not be confused as Permanent Resident applying for I-130...

09/09/2013 - Concurrent filing of I-130/I-485/I-765/I-131 sent via USPS.

09/11/2013 - Delivered to USCIS Chicago Lockbox

10/01/2013 - I-485 case status updated to RFE and the RFE notice mailed out.

10/08/2013 - RFE response mailed out.

No. No need to give your alien number anymore. You`re a free citizen! :)

(I was also wondering about that question but decided it is just a general all-inclusive application so they will have all kinds of non-relevant information being asked for in there! I did not fill that question out and my I-130 passed with flying colors! :) Good luck!

Congratulation! It's almost over...

My parents are in Vancouver and we are still waiting for I-130 approval (since March 10,2016).

May I ask you where your parents get the medical exam? I cannot find any location in Canada listed in official sites. Can they do it in US?

Oh I am so so happy, guys! Today when I called NVC, the lady on the phone told me case was completed on the 3rd, yesterday, and said they just scheduled the interview date - September 21st!!!

OMG FINALLY!!! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

There were no checklists, obviously the papers I sent were all good!!! So happy! Now the last two hurdles remain! The medical exam (praying to God mom has no complications from the darn vaccines) and the Interview itself!

Godspeed to all of you! Keep us posted!
