Hi Everyone,

I just received a copy of my private retirement insurance contract where my wife (USC, I-130 petitioner) as the primary benificiary.

I was not able to get an english version (only available in the Belgian national languages).

As you may expect ... it's a 6 pages document written with small characters and which includes tables/technical information and so on ...

Because we are translating the documents ourselves, I was wondering if a partial translation would be accepted.

It would include :

  • Contract's Cover Letter,
  • Insurance owner section,
  • Insurance beneficiaries section.

I checked previous posts but did not find appropriate answers related to the I-130 process.

Thank you!

I would not risk the chance of getting a RFE for a partial translation, if they catch it the will RFE you.

Use google translate and then polish it, it will save you a lot of time.

BTW, I did my own translations and I did not notarize them. This is a big myth for big business, translators charge US $ 24 per page.

OK. I see.

We also have other evidences (child birth certificate, healthcare Insurance, ... all have been translated) + pictures.

May be should I keep this evidence for the interview at the consulate.

I understood that additional evidences can be brought at the interview appointment and the documents in local languages dont need translations...

Just realized I posted in the wrong section ...

I guess this should be moved to the Visa Process and Procedures ...

Sorry for that.

~~Moved, and no apologies are necessary.~~
