Hello,

I'm from Spain and I'm getting married my girlfriend from CT. We have filed the I-129F and we are going to send the documents next week. Maybe my question is hard to figure it out, according to people's timelines, but what is the average time now from sending the application and receiving the K1 Visa?

Hi Angel,

That is a hard question to answer. For some people it can be from 5-6 months; and for others it could be less. Myself, for example. It has not yet been two months and I already have the interview scheduled for my fiancé.

If you gather as much pertinent information that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the legitimacy of your relationship you have the best chance that you'll get.

There's been an average of 30-40 days between NOA1 and NOA2 which is typically when the wait times can be looooooooong.

From my understanding Texas is sending all the fiancé visa petitions to Cali because they fell way behind and have quite a backlog to work through. Texas is slow. Cali is much faster. The Texas lockbox, which is where you'll send your package, will be forwarded to Cali

Not all the applications they forward to Cali it depends sometimes on the state u live in Vermont service center is slow to the bestie one who is California service center mine was sent to Cali I got the approval in one month my fiancé live right nest to Cali maybe that's why the send my application there

Yeah, it really depends where your petition ends up. Mine got stuck in Texas and the whole process lasted for 8 months. It went much faster though when the file got to Madrid. Good luck!
