expired after sputum test cancels interview date

My fiancé's medical examination in late November reveals her need to take sputum test and two month wait for results. We were scheduled for visa interview in mid December.

The problem is our I-129f expires in late December. would anybody have any idea what we must do to remedy this situation? Do we need to go through the I-129f application procedure again? I am not sure what the procedure is in this situation. Is there some sort of form or procedure that I can undertake to get an extension of that? Any help or link to a previous form topic that answered this question is greatly appreciated

I had to go through the same thing. You're fine as long as you still have your interview before it expires. Mine expires mid Jan but I only get my results end of Jan. I went for my interview 2 weeks ago and was approved pending my medical results. I received a pink form and was told I would be contacted when they receive my results.

Thanks for your reply. And good luck also your case. However, that is the problem, I 129 has expired, it expires on December 31. Initially, our interview was on November 30. But because of my fiancé having to go through the sputum test and waiting two months for the results. By the time we can reschedule a new interview date, I 129F will have expired.

The I-129f expires after a year. I can't tell when you submitted your initial I-129f paperwork because you have no timeline. Please fill out your timeline so others can help you. It's the best thing to do. Your visa will be extended by USEM every four months till you reach the expiration date, one year from initial approval.

Happy holidays to you all!

Relax your petition won't expire, the embassy will extend it up to a year. You do not need to contact the embassy on this, they do it automatically.

Here is the correct procedure for getting your I-129F extended: do nothing.

(The U.S. Embassy Manila will take care of that for you).

Good luck with the smear tests and the sputum culture at St. Luke's.
