How soon to expect Social Security card and Green Card to arrive?

We arrived in the USA a week ago. My husband already has a job offer, for the Georgian community support each other all over the word very well. We are only stuck waiting for his SS card... At the SS office they told us - wait until the end of January :ranting: and if it does not arrive by then :shocked: , come back and apply...

From your experience, how long did you have to wait?

CR-1 Visa

Service Center : California Service Center

Consulate : Georgia

Marriage: 2015-01-11

I-130 Sent : 2015-07-10 - sent from abroad, auto-expedite

I-130 NOA1 : 2015-07-14

I-130 Approved : 2015-08-13 (30 days)

Received by NVC: 2015-09-02 (in 20 days after the approval) - no email notification, info obtained over the phone

Case # assigned: 2015-09-10 (in 8 days after the case was received) - no email notification, info obtained over the phone

AoS fee paid: 2015-09-15

DS-261 reviewed over the phone:2015-09-17

Agent registration email: 2015-09-18

IV fee available: 2015-09-18

IV fee paid: 2015-09-22

IV fee showed paid: 2015-09-23 right before the end of the working day at NVC - at almost midnight EST.

AoS and IV package received: 2015-09-23

DS-260 filled out 2015-09-24

Scan date: 2015-09-24

Now let's get some patience for 3 weeks and hope CC will come without any delays :luv:

It normally takes 10-14 days after POE for the package to make it to the appropriate places so your husband may not be in the system yet. Did they say that one had been sent to him or just that they couldn't find him in the system when you applied in person?

It normally takes 10-14 days after POE for the package to make it to the appropriate places so your husband may not be in the system yet. Did they say that one had been sent to him or just that they couldn't find him in the system when you applied in person?

They didn't even look - said, if SS number was applied for through the immigration, they have nothing to do with that.

i waited for my ssn 3 weeks after arriving in usa and then i went to the ss office and applyed. i recieved the ssn after 3 weeks from applying and the GC after 2 months. i live in NJ. good luck!

Oh, you are from Georgia too! This is so rare. Through the entire process I haven't met a single person from Georgia on VJ. We actually have family in NJ.

Wife received SSN card in the mail 10 days after arrival. Issue date on the card was 2 days after POE. IO at Atlanta did confirm mailing address and it was sent to her name care of me (husband).

Seems data is electronically sent to Social Security for processing so they should have your information unless data input incorrectly.

So it took your wife 10 days to get the card which was within the processing timeline I stated. If a card doesnt come by then it' s best to make a trip to the SSA office.
