I-134 Example Form

LOL good thing someone posted this.

I was reading this thread thinking, wow, this thread would be entirely obsolete if people would just read the guides and look at the example forms! If you don't know what to put, check the dayum example forms. The example answer worked for me and most likely thousands of others.

Read the guides before you post!

The Molinas,

NO! In order for the visa to be approved the visa applicant must demonstrate that they will not become a public charge after entering the USA.

The consular officers could care less how the visa applicant is supporting themself or is being supported by someone else while still in their home country. (Unless the support is coming from some illegal means that would make the visa applicant ineligible to enter the USA.)

Yodrak

They dont want to know what contributions you will make after your fiance arrives in the US. they are asking if you intend to support her (financially) while you guys are apart....

earinsound,

I'm in the camp with the people who say 'intend', because like you (and most everyone else) I do intend. Why give an answer that is contrary to my intentions? I used the words 'food, clothing, housing, and all other costs of living'.

As a practical matter, it makes no difference how the question is answered for a K-visa applicant. I have never heard of anyone being questioned or having a problem over how they answered this question.

As for the example form, the example answer derives from an older version of the form that had a parenthetical note with this question. But the note has been gone for a couple of years now.

Yodrak

Item 11 on the I-134 asks if I "intend" or "do not intend" to "make specific contributions to the support" of my fiancee. I figure that because she will be my wife I will support her for whatever is needed, as most married folks do. If she lives with me am I "furnishing room and board"?

Intend or do not intend, that is the question...

Anyone have any recommendations as to what I can write in this section?

SamAndJulie,

The notary was witnessing the signature, not verifying the information.

It would be better to put a line though incorrect information (leaving it still legible) and write the correct information above, below, before, or after, wherever it can be fit in.

For a I-129F K1 Visa for fiance you can just put N/A because you are in the process of wanting to marry your fiance. You can just put N/A which is in the intructions of the I-134.

Which part on the instruction showed that we can just put NA?

The I-134 is also used for other types of visas, that question applies to sponsorship of those.

I put something like " N/A this affadavit is submitted in conjunction with application for K-1 (fiancee) visa."
