yeah actually the joke is not on the foreigner, but on how the American people react to his 'cultural differences'..

were all the scenes scripted? or were there some real scenes? like when he was interacting with the news reporters or in the Rodeo?

It's only scripted in that they know where to push people - the reactions are natural but they were the desired ones from the film makers point of view.

I have not actually seen it yet - my wife is jewish and i am not sure her sense of humour will like it. I loved borat when he was on tv in england. Just like i loved ali g when he was starting out but he soon became boring as he became popular. Its funny on a late night sketch but when everybody in the street is going 'aiiiiight' and 'booyackasha' it is tiresome. Same with borat. Now i hear 'niiiiice' everywhere i go.

I will netflix it and i will laugh my ### off for sure. I just can't wait for the next character he comes out with (not the gay austrian fashion guy - #######)

Ooops! Sorry. I just got edited for using a bad word - didn't realise ### was a bad word. How about #######?

Yeah i beat the system!!! :P

As I said to my husband (USC) ppl of Kazakhstan are pissed off saying "you are showing us as being stupid".....ppl of USA are pissed off saying "you are showing our stupidity"

I would say some scenes are set up. Like when he approaches the black guys in the 'hood'. The college kids in the RV were set up too.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

The RV scene was set up, but not scripted.
