NVC: Agent & Joint Sponsor Questions

Hello,

My following question are related to the NVC stage of IR-1/CR-1 visa:

If I decided to choose an agent in DS-261 who is neither the petitioner nor the beneficiary/applicant, since both are overseas, and chose an agent who lives in the US to receive mail from NVC more reliably.

My first question is; 1- as per the definition of the agent; "a person who receives all correspondence regarding the case and pays the immigrant visa application processing fee", is the agent the only person who will be able to pay IV & AOS fees online? Can the petitioner or the beneficiary/applicant pay it even if an agent was assigned in DS-261?

My second question is; 2- for emails received from NVC, will the agent be the primary and only contact to receive emails from NVC? Or the petitioner and beneficiary/applicant can receive the same emails as well? (I noticed that the first part of DS-261 asks for the beneficiary/applicant email address, also VJ Wiki recommends to give over both the petitioner and beneficiary/applicant email addresses to phone operator when receiving case number and IIN)

In regards to AOS, 3- can the joint sponsor be a USC working and earning his income overseas? Is there any other restrictions on the source of income other than meeting the 125% poverty limit?

• Ignore any reference to receiving mail. The NVC rarely if ever mails anything; if they have email addresses for the petitioner and beneficiary on record, all correspondence will be sent exclusively by email.
• NVC will not care who pays the bills, they only care that the bills get paid.
• Joint sponsors must be domiciled in the US.
