Starting to worry as we are filing next month/early Jan. This is what I got ready for us (SO is working like crazy so I have more time than him).

  • I-129f
  • G-1145 x2 (I filled mine out already).
  • Divorce Decree.
  • Photocopies of all boarding passes from previous trips (Will include from this next trip).
  • 4x photos per trip (8 total so far, going to include a few from xmas maybe).

What I need to get:

  • Both of us need passport photos, I was going to get it done with him while I'm there.
  • I know we need to copy his birth certificate.

Am I missing anything?

You both need G-325a and Letters of intent and proof of ongoing relationship also use passport stamps :) Looks like we are filing about the same time :)

You don't need the G-1145

My bad it's the G-325a I have filled out and another copy for my SO to fill out.

Proof of relationship boarding passes are fine, I can't send them my passport. The boarding passes have the dates and my name on them. I also have photos for proof of meeting and I have met all his family except his brother who I am meeting at Christmas as he was ill on my last trip and couldn't come to visit. I have copies of bus tickets, flight tickets and my hotel room that I am staying in at heathrow even though it's probably not relevant. I'll have him double check before we file. He is good at reading forms.

Boarding passes are proof of having met. No not sent the passport make copies op the pages with stamps and the picture/info page.

Proof of ongoing can be chat logs, phone call logs and so on. And you need the Letters of intent to marry from both of you signed or you will get a REF

But I'm sure you will be fine once you have that :)

I don't know about that embassy. I'm going through Sweden which is a really easy embassy and I'm giving them some. We talk everyday to but I don't sent them all as it will be to much but just random dates so they can see.

I added info in the post before

I have an itemized skype log as I pay for a subscription so I'll look into it and if needed I'll print a few random pages of that from the past year. I'm hoping we will send it out by the end of December! I'm hoping to move in July if all goes well (but you never know what'll happen). The school year starts in August there and I'd like my daughter to be able to start at the beginning of the school year with out interruptions.

Just to clarify, you haven't officially applied for the K-1, right? If that is the case, then you definitely need to send copies of the entire passport for both you and your significant other. Your application goes through USCIS before it goes to London, and they for sure will want to see that. The passport stamps show that you entered the country, boarding passes do not.

I will get a copy of my passport stamp, but my old passport expired and I have only 1 trip on the new one, so I can send them a copy of the old one too as I paid to keep it just incase. My SO doesn't have a passport yet, he's just applying soon so that he can come visit in march.

What I need to get:

  • Both of us need passport photos, I was going to get it done with him while I'm there.
  • I know we need to copy his birth certificate.

Am I missing anything?

Okay, hope this helps.

  • You need a check in the required amount.
  • G-1145 for the us citizen to be e-notified if you want (I found it helpful personally)
  • one cover letter detailing the contents of the package
  • I-129F
  • explanation of meeting supplement attachment letter if needed.
  • any divorce degree or other applicable documents
  • G-325A for us citizen and for foreign fiancé + one passport photo of us citizen & one passport photo of foreign fiancé (labeled on the back)
  • US citizen birth certificate copy or copy of full passport for proof of citizenship (just pick one) (birth certificate for foreign citizen is not required at this time it will be needed for them to apply for their police certificate and for their interview when it is time). You need to make sure it is the long form birth certificate if you use it. And make sure the foreign fiancé also has a long form certificate for when they need to use it, to be prepared.
  • statement of intent to marry. you'll need one from each of you, and like the G-325A it needs to be originally signed by each of you.
  • proof of having met within the past two years (copy of passport stamps, boarding passes, photos (label who what when and where).

As for relationship proof it's not needed to front load. In our case we opted to show them our receipt for the engagement ring, copies of cards we had received from friends and family about our engagement and any evidence we had that we had met within two years (copies of movie/dinner receipts, boarding passes etc). In our supplement attachment I explained our relationship in a few paragraphs, how long we had known each other, and when we had visited. The dates of which also matched up with his passport copy of stamps. We provided both of our passport copies, showing our stamps, and copies of two of his passports (because of him needing a new one and having stamps on both), and our boarding passes. I put post-it notes on the page(s) highlighting the most recent visits. We also provided 15 or so photographs. That is more than most people provide, so I think you can narrow it down, as to what applies. We did not provide any copies of social media or chats or emails, because going through that would of taken years. Don't send originals of certificates. You'll never get it back.

Make sure to double check the guide. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Oh ok, because I was told London embassy isn't a front loading embassy and not to send chat logs. I have skype logs for our phone calls as I call him for at least an hour every day but I read it wasn't needed.

The petition can be approved by showing you have met in person within the last two years, which you are doing with you boarding passes and passport page photocopies showing immigration entry stamps. Ongoing relationship is not actually one of the requirements. It's just something people do to an excess sometimes. London will not even be interested in chats, phone calls, etc.

Another base you have to cover is proof of US citizenship. Best is US birth certificate. Second option is all pages of US passport. UK birth certificate is not until interview.

Also required is that you are free to marry and intend to marry within 90 days, etc. That is covered by each fiance writing/signing a letter or statement stating such. And if there were previous marriages, something to prove that the marriage(s) no longer exists like the divorce decree or death certificate. That covers free to marry bit with a legal document. Compile that with your forms you have mentioned and the passport photos with names pencilled on the back. Some candid shots together like you plan is a nice touch. It doesn't have to be an album full. One from each trip is good and maybe something with a family group.

If the divorce decree is one from England, I can pass on a tip for that. Just let me know.

Do read the instructions written by USCIS so you don't miss anything. Sign everything. Make out the check exactly as they say. Don't put stuff in binders or page protectors. Make one photocopy of the entire packet including the check. That's for when you start second guessing yourself. You can look and see what you sent. The UK person does not need a photocopy of the packet for anything done over there. Mail it Priority Mail at the post office and you will get a tracking number to know when it was delivered.

It's not as hard or scary as you believe when you are first starting out. :)

The UK person does not need a photocopy of the packet for anything done over there. Mail it Priority Mail at the post office and you will get a tracking number to know when it was delivered.

It's not as hard or scary as you believe when you are first starting out. :)

I'd been getting things ready for my SO as he is moving into a bigger house for us and also very busy with his work. I told him he just needed to get a passport photo and copy his long form birth certificate. Pretty much everything else on that list is stuff I have. I need a passport photo and then I was going to send a Christmas picture or 2 along from this trip (depending on when we send the application) as well as a copy of my boarding pass from this trip.

My SO is doing the paperwork, I am just getting it all ready so I know we have everything. My divorce decree is an English one, it has the black stamp which is now the correct color as they changed it last year, but I have a copy of the original to go in my packet.

Just to add that we are sending a money order rather than a check.

Oh ok, because I was told London embassy isn't a front loading embassy and not to send chat logs. I have skype logs for our phone calls as I call him for at least an hour every day but I read it wasn't needed.

We sent more than a year of Skype monthly phone logs. Also, many Customs receipts for packages sent. Send as many photos as you can. Be sure to annotate when and where the photos were taken.

The more proof of relationship documentation you send, the less chance of receiving an RFE. More is better. :)
