Hello Everyone,

I was in Munich a couple of months ago and while I was there I met a women and we hit it off and pretty much spent the whole time I was down there together. We have continued to talk on Skype a lot but she is from Moldova. Anyways I am planning on going to the Bahamas in late December or in January, and was going to try to get her there also.

So my questions are, since I know she will have a layover in the United States. I am guessing she is going to need a visa for the US? Would it be better for her to try to get a visitor visa or a transit visa? I know she doesn't need a visa to visit the Bahamas.

Next question would be I know they have to fill out an application and then go for an interview. After they have the Interview how long does it normally take for approval and for them to get the visa if they are approved? Or if you could take a guess on how long it normally takes? Or would that be something she needs to find out there?

I appreciate any info and thanks.

she would need a transit visa; approvals or denials take place (mostly) the same day as her eventual interview..go to the US embassy website for Moldova to check on wait times.

a tourist visa to visit her 'friend' in the US would be hard to come by.

If she applies in Munich, her chances will drop considerably.

Thanks for the info. I figured a visitor Visa would be hard to get from there.

If she lives in Moldova, she could go to Munich and apply there? Are Transit Visa's pretty hard to get in Moldova also?

Is she a German resident or was she just visiting ? If she lives in Germany she applies in Germany. If she lives in Moldova she applies there.

Does not have to go via US.

Yea she lives in Moldova.

The only place in Europe I saw with a direct flight to the Bahamas was London, is it easier to get a visa for UK than US? All the rest I saw had a layover in US, or am I missing one.

Think it might just be easier to go to Panama in Central America, since France has direct flights there and She wouldn't need a visa for France or panama.

UK is easier, but sounds like you have a better solution.
