Hi everyone,

I'd like to get some help for my friend's case....

My friend is here on work visa, while his son is on student visa.

He got married with a U.S permanent resident 2 years ago. She filed I-130 last year for her husband and his son, and the petitions have been approved.

Now my friend and his son can file I-485 to adjust their status to permanent residents.

Questions:

1. What documents do they need to submit beside copy of passport, I-94, I-20?

2. Does my friend still need to submit copy of their marriage certificate, since it had been submitted for I-130?

3. Do they need to submit documents to show their bond-fide marriage?

4. Do they need to fill out G-325 A?

Thank you !!! Appreciate all your answers!

1) Read the I-485 instructions to see what documents are required.

2) Probably not, but I would likely do it anyway.

3) See 1 + 2.

4) Yes.

Important to note that he must have been in a valid nonimmigrant status for the entire time he has been in the US before filing; since he is not an immediate relative of a US citizen then any overstay renders him ineligible to adjust through marriage to an LPR.

They were advised that their priority dates are current. Would you mind sharing how to check the dates?

Thank you!
