How much to pay?

Hi everyone,

I've been to a few sites and can't quite figure out how much I have to make a payment out to.

On the .gov site, it says a Fiancée visa is $265.

On another immigration site, it says $340.

Can I just make one check to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security? How much is the total? $265+$340?

It's $340 for the I-129F processing fee. That's what you send when you send in the petition. The $265 is later on.

The $340 is the filing fee for the I129, Your petition may fail and be denied....

The fee the for the visa processing is separate after the petition has been approved.

The Visa site clearly states to NOT send payments prior to it being requested.

Checks aren't that expensive.

The $340 is when you file the I-129F Petition and the $265 is when you apply online for the Fiancé Visa. Separate payments during the process.

I think I got it.

So I send $340 to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security now, and later on, they'll ask for $265?

The K1 visa petition fee, payable to the US Department of Homeland Security, is sent in the your initial Form I-129F petition.

The K1 visa application fee, is paid to US Department of State, is paid later on at the visa interview phase, in a manner described by the interviewing embassy/consulate.

Point of correction:

Form I-129 = Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker

Form I-129F = Petition for Alien Fiance(e) K1
