My husband had his interview earlier AT MANILA US EMBASSY and we were told that an administrative process has to be done due to his NBI document didnt contain the A.k.a... It was a mistake on my part... I received the email but didnt really understood that the A.K.A has to be included in the nbi... HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE THE VISA IF WE ARE ON AP? We will send the NBI clearance tomorrow. Despite the expected delay STILL WE ARE THANKFUL THAT THE INTERVIEW PART IS OVER.. THANK YOU LORD!! Consul said that all the paperworks for petition is good. We just have to submit the NBI..

No one can tell you for sure what your processing time is once you submit your answer to your 221g. Generally, it can be one-two weeks but we have seen others go a month or more. You'll just have to be patient.

Don't buy your plane tickets till you have your visa in your hands.

Here is a discussion on this same subject and will lend credence to what I had stated. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/509794-manila-221g-processing-times-anyone-else-waiting-like-me/page-8#entry7289704

A 221g for requested documents can add weeks to the process - AFTER the embassy receives the document.

thanks... I hope we can get his visa soon. IM assuming he passed the interview because the consul told him that the petition is looking good and the documents submitted is complete. All he needed is the nbi clearance. My friends Boss was missing his nbi too and it only took him 1 week.

This making me a little bit sad, but on a brighter side I'm assuming he passed the interview. It took 3 months for my friends husband to receive his visa for we have the same situation. Good thing I dint buy tickets!

Hi everyone, first of all, this forum is a huge help. I have one question please. Regarding with NBI clearance that needs to have an "AKA", is it needed for everyone? Or for just specific cases? This is not stated at NVC site and I started to get worried since we have our upcoming interview next 2weeks and my NBI clearance does not have an AKA.

AKA is for anyone that has changed their name/used another name legally. Marriage? Annulled? BC name change?

This is NOT a visa type related requirement.

Anyone of those situations that Hank describers needs a AKA search for NBI purposes. If you have never used an AKA then their is not a need to return to the NBI for an updated NBI.
