My fiance will be having a psychological eval. at St. Luke's on Thursday 10-22-15. Her interview is scheduled for 10-29-15. I am wondering did I schedule the interview too soon or should she get the results before then. I am also wondering if we have to reschedule again (our second rescheduling) will we have to pay another fee. Thanks for your help.

No need to reschedule your appointment and risk having to pay additional fees. Complete the psych interview and inform the Doctor of your upcoming appointment and ask he/she if they will have the necessary documents ready for you to complete the interview. That will be your definitive answer.

If for any reason she is unable to secure her medical completion results in time for the interview, I recommend that you continue to USEM and complete the interview. You will receive a 221g for the medical results but once the USEM has the medical results from SLEC they will review your case and render the final verdict. You shouldn't have a concern as everything you are doing is "normal" and does not raise any red flags.

Alcohol use is not a reason that they would fail him at the medical or the visa interview. Just tell him to go to his medical and do not VOLUNTEER any information other than to answer the questions truthfully when asked. If he tells the doctor of some that the doctor was not going to ask, it could lead to additional questioning or onto a psych testing delaying your process. Just DON'T bring up any issues when they are not asked for. His goal should be to get through the medical without having to saying too much.

Thank you greenbaum. Do they not ask those things about smoking and drinking routinely as part of the medical history? My fiance is just occasional drinker and just a moderate smoker.

I just had my medical recently and was asked if I smoke and drink , I answered YES "occasionally" haha ? . I got my result the next day. My advice is just be honest. Goodluck :)

Psych evaluation results take a few days, so she should be able to take her medical results to her interview.

If not, then go to the interview anyway and then deal with the 221g afterwards.

How long from her first Medical schedule she got an Psych eval appointment? I am worried that I will also get a psych eval due tot my annulment case. I actually don't understand why they are requiring that for those with annulment cases. We already had psych evaluation during the annulment process.

Like we all have said. Tell the truth IF ASKED. Smoking and drinking are not going to be an issue. SLEC's responsibility to USEM is to make sure you are healthy (no communicable diseases) and in the right frame of mind. SLEC is only looking for anyone currently afflicted with a contagious or communicable disease of public health significance will not be allowed to immigrate until cured.

There is a good chance you will get a psych eval for your annulment. Evaluations are specific to the government entity that is requesting the evaluation and is completed using their standards of testing. One agency may have a different set of parameters that one must meet to qualify then another agency. SLEC has their guidelines from USEM.
