Updated Status question

I might be the queen of silly questions but here it goes:

My status on CEAC has updated three times since I sent off my readiness form. Oct 2nd was the first update (assuming this was due to receiving readiness form), it then updated on October 8th (I'm thinking this one meant they received my medical results) and then again it updated October 13th which I was hoping would be an interview date being scheduled.. However I called NVC and they have nothing about an interview in their record.

I called the 603 334 0888 number and they were very polite and kind... but I really was expecting that one to be an interview date issuance.

My medical was October 2nd - so it'll have been two weeks on Friday. I know I am eager but aren't we all :P

So my question, I guess, is: If it hadn't been updated for the interview scheduling? What else would it have updated for?

Thanks to whoever has some answers!

I dont understand why the status on CEAC updated again though if they haven't issued out a date yet? Unless it takes a few days for NVC to receive the interview date? I guess I will try ringing again on Friday. You got your interview date quite quickly then! I'm hoping for an early november date so I can head out end of November :)

There is a good guide to times posted by nich-nick. All cases are different. Im in process of my case being on hold till I sort out legal stuff with daughters father. Then hopefully when its gone through court i should be in USA 6 weeks later as this was my time scale from when i did initial medicals. The interview is a formality. you will be there soon

I've seen the timescale guide :) - but I'm literally just curious as to why it has updated on CEAC again when no date has been issued haha. Just being nosy and wondering what is going on haha!!

It could update if-

You called or emailed about status

They moved your file or a box of files to another room, shelf, or desk.

They accidentally opened your file when it was another they intended to view

They assigned an interview date

I also learned that it will update when the DS-160 is associated with your LND case. Based on your timeline and the updates, your case looks like it is heading toward getting the interview date set. Hang in there!!

I've been calling NVC however their systems are still crashing after picking up from being closed on Monday for Columbus Day. So I am trying again on Friday but I call the number that ends on 0888 because they answer much quicker and are very helpful.

You never received a letter for packet 3, you mean? I received mine a little while ago so I am hoping that there are no issues with the interview date letter being sent out..

If you call NVC, more than likely they will give you your interview date if one has been scheduled to you.

You and I have the exact same timeline from Medical 2nd October, CEAC updated on 8th and again on 13th.

I am hoping that the interview letters have been sent out! I anticipate it arriving Friday and if so that would correlate with Bob+Senga getting their letter 2 weeks after the medical.

Perhaps I'll see you at the consulate!

Best of luck,

Tom

Oh wow! We may have crossed paths already at the medical - mine was at 2pm. That's so funny that our timelines are matching up exactly. Fingers crossed we will receive them on Friday but I am goign to keep calling NVC. I've got plenty of skype credit left to do so so might as well use it :P What date did you put down your wedding date as? I put sooner rather than later (So end of Nov) as I hear it helps in getting your interview date a little faster.

Let me know when your date comes through! I'll keep you updated as we are following the same timeline :)

I was in at 10:30 and out by about 12:30 so I don't think we would have done.

Yeah they are matching up perfectly, I can't imagine its anything but them sending out the interview letters in batches? Let me know how you get on with the NVC, if you get through then I'll ask my fiancée to call them and inquire.

I put it down as the 14th November (I know super early). I also wrote them an email to explain that I have a close family member who could only make a date before the 23rd November due to serving in the Armed Forces but I don't think that influenced them in any way.

I am hoping there is some mail waiting for me today!

I just rang and got through within a few minutes but they haven't scheduled an interview date for me yet :(

The guy who I got through to though said that the London Embassy would be sending me an email with the interview date at the same time that they update on NVC's records - so apparently NVC don't actually get the date any sooner than we do. But that is assuming that the embassy send an email rather than something through post.

Were you asked to give an email address to NVC when you called for your case number ? Because once I listed that email address down it became a primary method of contact for the embassy.

I was never asked to provide them with an email address although I think they have my fiancée's email address from somewhere.

I don't believe a lot of what the NVC phone line says, from my experience their information tends to vary wildly and is extremely inconsistent. My Fiancée phoned them at the first CEAC update (8th) and they said they don't have information on the interview dates and to wait for my letter to arrive.

Looking at other threads most people seemed to get their letters roughly 2 weeks after their medical.
