Anyone have any advice and guidance on obtaining new credit or best route to take on establishing new credit for new LPR's?

I started with a secured card, built credit over the period of a year or so, and then applied for an unsecured card, which I got approved. In order to increase your credit score, don't spend over your limits and pay off your bill every month in full.

Establish a secured credit card. It was already mentioned above but it is true. You can ask for one and only put in 200-300 us dollars. Also, after 6-12 months of using it, you'll realize you'll have no issues applying for normal credit cards. However, make sure you pay your bills on time.

I recommend creditkarma so you can start tracking and maintaining your credit history. Plus, its free! :)
