Standard mail sent 1 month after NOA1: what would this be about?

Hi, I'm the beneficiary with this K1 Visa, and we filed i-129f on Aug 11.

Then we got NOA1 on Aug 20, so I thought I should wait for the next few months while occasionally (actually, more like everyday =D) checking the case status until the case gets approved.

but then I just heard from my fiance, that his parents got this mail from USCIS for him.

He can't go back to hometown to get this letter till Sunday, but I just can't wait to find out what this would be about.

Of course I've checked the online status but it stays same, and we already got the standard NOA1 mail long ago.

Has any of you had a similar experience?

I somehow think it can't be a good sign though, might be an RFE? but isn't the case status changed even if it's RFE?

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you so much in advance!

Have his parents open the letter and read it to him if you really want to know what the letter is for, otherwise you will not know till Sunday.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

turns out that this was an approval letter! yay!

Can't believe it went so fast, I think it took a little bit over than a month after NOA1.

But I'm still not notified on the email, and case status in uscis.gov is still 'Your case was received" too.

I guess I am approved anyways, but might have to check when getting in touch with NVC as a next step.

Wanted to let you guys know that I guess there are cases you get the letter first even before email / online!

@captmaximus, yes, this was a legitimate NOA2 letter! My fiance called NVC today and was confirmed it was approved, and now it's sent to the consulate of my country. Also got a case number, beneficiary number and an invoice number.

Just pointing out to other K1 people who is about to call NVC that they don't need to ask for the beneficiary or invoice numbers because they don't need it. It's for CR1, spousal visa.
