Filing for IR1/CR1 with USC husband staying in PH, I'm working in Singapore

Hi Everyone,

My husband will be filing I-130 soon, petition for alien relative in USCIS Manila. USC Husband has been staying in PH for more than 2years now and he might be going back to the US soon.

My question is:

1) Is it possible for me to receive all correspondences to my Singapore address or use husband's US address?

2) Can I have the visa interview in Singapore US Embassy or I need to do it in Manila?

Answers:

1. At this juncture, correspondence from USCIS is for the petitioner only. It will be sent to the address the petitioner indicates on the form.
2. If you are still in Singapore on the appropriate visa when the time comes to interview, then you can interview in Singapore.

OP, this is correct. However, this issue is dealt with later in the process; it doesn't come in to play when filing the I-130.

OP, this is correct. However, this issue is dealt with later in the process; it doesn't come in to play when filing the I-130.

My husband has a valid driver's license and bank accounts in the US.

We will submit the I-130 first at USCIS in Manila and we will find out where the interview is. I can always make travel arrangement to Manila anytime.

I will let you know if in case our I-130 is approved.

In order for your husband to submit the file in Manilla, he must be residing in the Philippines on a long-term stay visa or residence permit (tourist visa extensions do not count). Additionally, if you are living and working in Singapore (and have asked about interviewing there), trying to file in Manilla makes no sense.
