How were they able to fly from Syria to the US?

And they could not go back to Turkey?

You want to fly out from Germany presumably.

For whatever the reason(s), the fact remains that they were not truthful when telling our border officials about the true purpose of their alleged tourism trip...and, in my considerable experience, family reunification trumps everything else....now they have used some story to have apparently received asylum...and often when one family member has succeeded, they pass that story along to the next set of relatives who arrive in the US...and all the new arrivals have to do is change a couple of names and have a decent chance of being approved as well, then later bringing their spouse along (after about a year or so)...so, an experienced CO, who has seen enough of this sort of thing, is going to be hard pressed to believe that you won't duplicate their efforts....that's just the way it is....like it or not.

I have lost track of how many people have left their spouse, kids, you name it, behind after being granted a tourist visa, then 'forgetting' to return, while they try everything imaginable to obtain some sort of status they can later use to bring everyone else to the US....tourist visas are not designed for family reunification...nor for providing an easy path to some sort of asylum claim...thus, a seasoned CO will certainly err on the side of caution...with good reason.

There is no reason, if they have indeed been granted asylum, that they cannot travel to Germany, to see you (if they are still in process, then they cannot).
