The forms that I am trying to fill out are expired. Specifically, I am talking about DS-230, DS-156, DS-157. I am taking them directly from state.gov. Did anyone have issue with using those expired forms?

The expiration date is established by the office of budget and management (OMB) whose job it is to manage all forms used by the US government. They assign an expiration date to all forms. It is up to the agency using the form whether they want to up date the form and when or whether they will accept an "expired" form. Check the DOS site to see if they accept the "expired" form. Another way to look at the expiration date is a version. We accept forms that expired in 2013, 2011, and 2009 as well as the current form that expires in 2016--the current version, and the previous 3 versions. Sometimes the agency alters the form so much they only accept the current version. If you are getting them from the agency that issues the form, you should have no issues.

Call them up to make sure they are okay. When we filed our I-129F we had to use a form G-325A that was technically expired but the lady on the phone said that because it was the only one available, that it was fine. So try calling them up and see what the they tell you :)

Those forms are not typically used for a K-1 visa, and haven't been for a couple years now. You need to fill out the DS-160. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html#6

You have no timeline filled out, so I have no idea what consulate you are going through. Did your consulate not provide you instructions?

Also, no need to call anyone about form expirations. As said already, the OMB(Office of Management and Budget) expiration date only matters internally. That expiration date has nothing to do with whether or not it will be acceptable for you to use. Edition dates are what matters. https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/47/0.408
