(HELP) U.S. Citizenship Civics Test Q&A Confusion

Hello! My question is about the answers on the U.S. Citizenship Civics Test..

Some questions specifically say "name one" or "name two"..so I'm wondering if you're suppose to know all the options for those that don't specify how many you should know. Or are they OK with you still choosing one? It seems like it depends on the a question but I'm trying to make flashcards that are simple for someone who's first language is NOT English and if I can put only one or two answers, that'd be great!

Here are some examples from the actual questions:

Q 51: "What are two rights of everyone living in the United States? "

☆ Freedom of Worship

☆ Freedom of Speech

(There are many other options)

Question 51 is obvious but then there are questions like Question 37...

Q 37: "What does the Judicial branch do?"

☆ Reviews laws

☆ Explains laws

☆ Resolves disputes (disagreements)

☆ Decides if a law goes against the Constitution

Do they expect you to name all of these when it is a question like Q37?

Here are two examples that makes it seem like it depends on the question because it seems like it's just giving you other ways to say it...

Q14. What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?

☆ Checks and balances

☆ Separation of power

Q16. "Who makes federal laws?"

☆ Congress

☆ Senate and House (of Representatives)

☆ (U.S. or national) legislature

I hope this makes sense.

any other advice is also welcome on top of what I'm asking.

One person wrote on here that at her interview she was asked "what is the rule of law" and the officer insisted that she had to mention all four things written in the test booklet otherwise she would be marked wrong. So I guess it depends on the officer, as so much seems to do. There seems to be so much inconsistency between different applicants' experiences that it is hard to predict how things will go. To be safe I am memorizing everything, which is pretty easy if you listen to the CD when driving...

You won't be writing, the questions are asked verbally...for the written portion, they tell you the exact sentence to write down.
