  1. Hi, I am creating this group for filers within the jurisdictions of the three field offices: NYC, Queens and Long Island, to share their N-400 application progress and experiences along the process. I am a September filer at New York City Field Office. I filed my application online on 9/6/2017. I received notification that USCIS has scheduled me for biometrics appointment. I am still waiting for the letter to arrive in the mail to find out the date and time of my appointment.
  2. This forum is to start early discussion around N-400 for June 2021 filers and to be in touch with other filers to learn about progress and any new updates.
  3. Happy new year and good luck everybody 🙏. I can't wait to become an American so I'm filing my N-400 this month anybody else? 👍
  4. I didn't see any thread but I am wondering if there are Cleveland 2020 filers here? I just submitted my application on June 1st!
  5. Hello Guys, I wanted to take a lead in creating this group for all (Naturalization) N-400 September 2019 FILERS! Please use below table to provide your case details. (Thanks to AI135 for creating the table for July 2019 filers) I will be filing my case online in the first week of September 2019 and would like all September 2019 filers to share their Citizenship journey on this thread!! It is going to be exciting. Once I file my application, I will fill out my details. VJ Username Filing date NOA1 Biometrics Appt RFE? Interview Oath Ceremony Field Office Filed online / paper
  6. Hey Folks, I applied for N-400 on Jan, 2020 and still waiting on interview in Houston, Texas. I applied based on 5 years, so I only submitted copy of my green card and divorce certificate. I did my biometrics on Feb, 2020. Was I supposed to submit more documents? I thought tax transcripts were only required for based on 3 years. Would it make sense to upload tax transcripts? Any recommendations would be helpful.
  7. Updating SSA Record after Naturalization - By Mail Just spoke with someone at the Social Security Administration in our area outside Tampa, FL. The SSA Representative confirmed that they are NOT having any face-to-face meetings with customers at this time (are not booking any appointments and are not accepting any walk-ins; only online services are possible). Updating your SSA record after naturalization is, however, NOT one of the online services available at this time The Representative said that we CAN update our record by mail by sending in the SS-5 Form directly to his office, along with the original naturalization certificate OR passport, and they will process it for us. He said to send it with USPS tracking, give it a week or so to arrive, and then call in to verify that they had received it. He said they will then verify the information over the phone with us, update the record, and then return the original documents we sent. He said we could expect to get it back in a few weeks. So, at least that might be a way to proceed. Since we have no idea when this covid-driven lockdown will end.
  8. Applying for N400 after 3 years of GC and married to USC. Arrived on fiance visa, had no interviews neither for conditional GK nor for ROC, all was approved based on tons of evidence: joint bank statements, credit card, trips together, bills, insurances and etc. There was nowhere a question about employment and employer's addresses until N400. I'm a flight attendant for a major US airline. My company headqurters and my base from where I start and end my work trips is 260 miles away from where me and my spouse live together. I was on a paid leave of absence for almost 1 year due to pandemic and was staying home. Is the officer gonna ask me how come my job is so far from where I live. I used to drive to my base once a week for a 3-4 day work trip then stayed home for 3-5 days after work trip. In many cases I was flying back and forth. But flight attendants can fly for free on a standby and if flight is completely full on a crew jumpsest just using our crew ID. So that is why I don't have any tickets or reservations to prove how I managed to commute to work so far. In 2018 I was based in Florida, definitely always flying to commute there and back to my residence in Texas. It was so long ago, I obviously don't have any evidence for that either. Should I be worried about such questions from officer or his request to provide evidence how I commuted back in 2019 and 2018 (when I got my conditional GK) or I should not worry especially because for this past year I was not flying at all. Can USCIS track our domestic flights within the US? Thank you for your feedback.
  9. I was outside of the country for 6 months and 1 week during covid-19 (my flight was cancelled 4x). How can I overcome this disrupted Continuous Residency?
  10. Filed N400 on Oct 1st in Chicago, received biometric reuse on 30th Dec 2020, when do I expect interview date, any idea folks as I want to plan for a out of country trip?
  11. Hi everyone! I have filled N-400 January 11, 2020. I received a Biometric Reuse Notice dated January 24. My mother is not feeling well and I have to travel and go take care of her. Is it safe to travel now? I don't assume I will get any other notices on my case any time soon. I am traveling, regardless of the consequences, but would love some insight. Thank you! Happy Valentines Day, you love bugs!
  12. Hello guys, i would like to share my N400 Hoping someone can give me an advice. I submitted my n400 at the end of January 2020, biometrics in February, uscis closed because of the pandemic, September 2020 did my interview : Officer handed me a paper saying Recommended for approval , he told me I shall receive the oath letter within 3 weeks... months have passed , I tried calling , going to the Jacksonville office... and they always said to keep waiting... my case is outside the processing time , and I submitted an inquiry, the response was : USCIS has reviewed your Service Request. According to USCIS records, we are unable to move forward with your application until the required background checks have been completed. At this time, we are unable to determine when the adjudication of your case will be completed and no further action is required from you. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing. I also contacted the Us representative and senator in January but haven’t heard any feedback yet.... yesterday I submitted an inquiry to CIS ombudsman. thank you in advance for your replies

  14. I would love to know if anyone has any advice. I moved and did the whole address change and everything but I haven't gone to the DMV to switch over my Drivers license as yet. All the DMV appointments are like 90 days out etc. Would going to my interview in my new state with my old state ID be an issue?
  15. Has anyone had an experience with adding a name to the other names used section of the N400 during the interview? I have 2 first names and recently learned that one of my old documents (New York State Benefit Card) only show my second first name and my last name. I know I provided them with my full name but that's what's printed. Is it ok to let the officer know during the interview and also will it cause delays? What's your experience? Thanks!
  16. Hello everyone! I got a minor traffic ticket due to a small car accident (which was my fault) and answered yes to question 22 (have you ever committed a crime for which you were NOT arrested.) I looked online a bit, took it logically and said well yes I committed a traffic infraction for which I was not arrested. I then later answered yes to question 23, 24, 25 and provided an explanation and proper documentation from the court of how the ticket was resolved. I’ve been reading online from some people that it was a big no no to answer yes to question 22? Has anyone answered yes to this question and received citizenship? can I clarify during the interview as of why I answered yes? I felt that I would rather say yes and clarify than say no and get it trouble for lying. I’m really worried that would cause the application to be denied. Hello everyone! 17. I attended my citizenship interview back in September. I passed the test but a decision could not be made. The immigration officer told me that she was waiting for my complete file to be shipped to her office and handed me form N-652. It’s been more than 120 days now. I noted on the form N-652 she provided, it says that I can reach out to the officer about my case and attach a copy of the form. Is it worth sending a letter to my local immigration office to ask about the status of my case in hope that they will make a decision?
  18. Hi all, Filed n-400 online few days ago. Creating this thread for all the January 2021 filers. Let’s help each other out. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MgLNJhInXs6wdoI44lCtR70nhdAgheHDZ1lTBOxRxG8/edit

  20. Is it true that you can not file for any immigrant for 10 years if you divorce a US citizen, who you were married to during naturalization (applied with 3 years rule)?
  21. What will be the time duration of 'After Green Card to US citizenship/Naturalization' in both the cases given below: 1. A foreigner marrying a US citizen 2. A foreigner marrying a Green card holder
  22. Hi!! This may be a stretch but I wanted to get all the West Palm Beach FL members who are filing or have filed, and are still waiting, to join this forum. It's a great way to keep updated on the West Palm Beach office and how fast they are processing our applications. WELCOME 😁🤗
  23. Hello. Last month, I applied for my wife's citizenship last month. ( I am US Citizen, she has been LPR since 2015) Due to COVID, the company I have been working for stop worked and have been unemployed for a few months. They will restart work again next year and I will go back to work in Jan 2021. I have been receiving unemployment payment from the state during that time. Due to the marketplace enrollment period being only from Nov 1 to Dec 15, we reapplied for insurance for next year. When they asked for my income what I was getting during that month. I put what I was getting. Instead of giving her private insurance, they sent her case to FSSA (Medicad). They also sent my case. Question: Should we accept or decline the Medicad? Is that going to effect her case for citizenship? Sorry if this an obvious question. Thank you.
  24. Hey everyone, I sent my application a few weeks ago via mail,(because I applied for a waiver fee) they received it just yesterday due to Covid and Christmas. (delayed) I was wondering how long it would take from receiving application to receiving a letter in the mail for NOA1. I have looked at Timelines on here but most people have applied online and Covid has effected things as well. I am thinking it will be a month or so. I sent my application to Chicago if they means anything Thanks!
