Touch - August 24th

NOA2 - Feb 27th - Praise the Lord!!!!!!!

Great! Congratulations!

So US does have preclearance facilities in the Bahamas. What are preclearance facilities? Like CBP in your country?

I just remember the lady from the airline asking me to see my visa.

Basically exactly that, you go through CBP customs and immigration controls in the foreign airport instead of the US.

You can find a list of CBP preclearance facilities here: http://www.cbp.gov/border-security/ports-entry/operations/preclearance

There are several in Canada, the Republic of Ireland, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and a few others dotted around the globe.

Yes exactly! Again I was very upfront with the agent once I got into immigration. As far as the airline was concerned I really had proper documentation because I had a valid passport and a valid police record which is enough for travel. I took a risk because I wanted to be with my child, but it was a silly mistake I made by leaving home without my GC.
