I am filing the i864. I am the intending immigrant. My spouse is USC. I am on F1 visa and working on campus. I make enough to meet the proverty line but my spouse do not work and doesnt have the income. I am intending to use my income for i864. But I have to show that my income will continue from the same source after getting the green card. How should I show the evidence? I have the employment letter from my university which states I am employed till dec 2015. The employment is renewed every semester and I will be getting a new one in December 2015 that will be valid till May 2016. Is the current letter (stating I am employed until Dec 2015) enough for the evidence (I am intending to file the petition tomorrow).

I would be careful using the on campus income for your I-864 since that job is not a "full time" nor "stable" job. You only have a contract for a specific amount of time. My husband is the USC and working as an RA on campus and met the income above poverty line but we still were advised to get a joint sponsor. I didn't even consider using my income (as RA and TA at the university) on the I-864 since the employment has to continue after you receive the green card.....which in the case of an RA or TA on campus is not true, since it is not long-term.

I suggest getting a joint sponsor.
