Are getting shots (MMR Tdap) an extra fee ontop of medical exam or is it included? I'm seeing Dr. Cheema in Vancouver.

I would say it is extra. At least here in Guatemala it is. The cost of the medical really goes up with them. Specially because they will not honor your national medical shot records, but hey!! This is a third world country. Just call and find out. Good luck!!

I think you can get your MMR free at any clinic as a walk-in if you have BC MSP, but you might have to pay for TDAP. But you don't have to wait for Dr Cheema to get it, you can do it ahead of time and just bring your proof of getting the shots to your appointment.

The MMR vaccine is also provided free of charge to the following people:

• infants aged 6 to 11 months who will be travelling to countries where there is measles, mumps or rubella disease, or that are known to have been in contact with someone with measles;
• women of child-bearing age who are not immune to rubella; and
• older children and adults who have not been immunized or do not have evidence of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella.

It is recommended that people born in 1970 or later get 2 doses of the vaccine. This is especially important for travelers.

It is important to keep a record of all immunizations received.

My fiance's in Montreal, but he got a booster for Tetanus and it was covered by his insurance. It was the only thing he needed though.

It's $25 extra per shot at medisys in Montreal. I needed one.

I think it was around $50 at Dr. Cheema's for the TDAP shot.

Hey guys, so it would be about $50 per shot done at Dr. Cheema's.

What I ended up doing was going to save on foods in victoria for the Tdap, and my bc medical covered it.

I got bloodwork done for mmr to find antibodies. I had MR, when the results came back so I had to rush around and get MMR done. Cheema's office sent me to london drugs, but london drugs couldnt do it for me, so i ended up going to save on foods pharmacy by dr cheemas and they luckily had a dose of MMR to give me. This was also free. I then had to go back to Cheema's with the MMR results.

TL:DR you can get free vaccines through canada medical at pharmacy's, save your money and dont go to a travel clinic or the US doctor.

I did it in Montreal on Monday. The Tdap and MMR came out to $90 total (one was $40, one was $50). They're both partially covered by my insurance. The total cost for the medical was around $410 (including the two shots).
