Second MMR Needed?

Hello,

I've scoured the forums for this, but can't find a definitive answer. For the AOS process, my fiance has one MMR shot marked on his DS-3025 from the year he was born. Does he need two MMR shots or just one? The panel physician did not mark any waivers in that area and didn't say we needed another one.

After searching more, it looks like two may be required. If he gets this now, how do we reflect that this shot is completed on the DS-3025 if his medical exam has already been completed?

This statement from the CDC confuses me:

Some adults should also get MMR vaccine: Generally,

anyone 18 years of age or older who was born after 1956

should get at least one dose of MMR vaccine, unless they

can show that they have either been vaccinated or had all

three diseases.

MMR vaccine may be given at the same time as other vaccines

I have just received RFE for the second MMR so yes, he will need to get another one BEFORE submitting AOS package.

Ugh great. So if the medical exam is already completed and the ds-3025 is already filled out, does he need to get a new medical in the states? Is there anyway another panel physician can administer the MMR and give him a copy of that ds-3025?

The medical examination is already done and DS-3025 is in hands, right?... So, no, there is no way to complete the second MMR in his country. And I wouldn't worry about missing shots right now - anyway, he will need form I-693, submitting AOS package.

When he arrives, you should take the copy of his DS-3025 and go to civil surgeon to complete the Vaccination sheet in I-693. Civil surgeon will check what kind of vaccination is missing (or not) and if you, guys. need anything else... Also, if your fiancé comes in Fall, he probably will need and flu shot. It is "seasonal"

I would start calling around now, to figure out about civil surgeons in your area. Just be careful - some of them want you to pay for re-doing the entire medical. And only few of them are ready to complete just a vaccination sheet. Also, when they tell you their price, make sure they DO shots - sometimes they just make an appointment with CS, for paperwork, but for shot you have to go to different place..

Ok great--I just don't want him to have to repeat the medical and shell out a chunk of money again. The DS3025 is already complete, yes. Flu shot won't matter I think, since he completed medical outside of flu season. Thanks for the advice about the CS's!

If you go to a civil surgeon for the I-693, then it will supersede the DS-3025 and it will matter if it is flu season or not. Flu season for immigration is Oct. - Mar.

Also, only one in a series is required for AOS. So, if you see a civil surgeon and get the first of 2 or 3 MMR shots, then you can file for AOS with just the first one you get that will be marked off on the I-693.
