I-864 General/Relationship Questions:

A little confused as to what I-864 forms I need to provide. Here's my situtation:

- I am the sponsor for my wife, however, on my taxes, I have made a total of $0.00 in the US for the last three years. So...

- My father is my joint sponsor.

- My mother and father file taxes jointly.

I am under the impression that I need:

- An I-864 for myself

- An I-864 for my father, the joint sponsor

- An I-864a for my mother.

If this is correct, on my mother's I-864a, do I indicate her relationship to my father, or her relation to me?

Household Questions:

I have recently moved back to America and am living with my parents until my wife can join me here. My parents can not claim me as a dependent, but the 3 of us are living in the same house together. On the I-864 for myself, should I indicate that my household size is 2, 1 for myself, 1 for my wife? Or, should I include my parents in my household size, for a total of 4?

Also, same question for my father's I-864. Does his household include him, my mother, me and my wife, for a total of 4? Or, is it just my mother and father, and my wife, for a total of 3?

I'm sorry for all of the complicated questions. I'm just about ready to send everything off. Just want to make sure I get everything right the first try. Any help is very, very much appreciated.

hi

does your father need your mom's income to sponsor your wife?

you are two separate households even if you live in the same house

you will file an i864 as sponsor regardless and your household size is 2, you and your wife

your father will file an i864 as your joint sponsor, he has a total of 3 on household size himself, your mom and your wife

now if he doesn't need to combine his income with his wife, then he files the i864, if he does then his wife, will file an i864A as His household member, the relationship is to your dad

Everyone you live with is not necessarily in your household count. If you don't claim each other on your taxes, then neither will include the other on their I-864.

How to count household size >

Your household size includes yourself and the following individuals, no matter where they live: any spouse, any dependent children under the age of 21, any other dependents listed on your most recent Federal income tax return, all persons being sponsored in this affidavit of support, and any immigrants previously sponsored with a Form I-864 or Form I-864 EZ
