If you have filed jointly, then yes.. you need to submit the copies of w2 as well as the transcripts. but if you filed single then simply the transcript is enough.

btw, how did you manage to get noa-2 in just 27 days! that's amazing. took us about 7 months.

About getting approved in 27 days, we just send them the complete documents that they need from us. And I also hear beneficiaries from Philippines gets approve faster than the other country.

I will tell you what I've been reading and what I've been told by my fellow VJ members. Don't send originals of anything to NVC. Send photo copies. The originals are taken to the interview by the beneficiary. Some say when the beneficiary takes the originals to the interview that they should also take a photocopy. And make sure to get the original documents back before leaving the interview. Best wishes.

The NVC does not need originals of any of the above, just photocopies. Furthermore, if you send tax transcripts, then W2's are not needed.

My husband didn't meet the poverty guidelines for the household of two. So we are going to have his Dad our Joint sponsor. Does the petitioner still need to send them the tax transcripts for last 3 recent years? We have the joint sponsor's W2s for 2014.. Is that enough? Thanks for the info.

Did the petitioner file taxes the last 3 years? Joint sponsor's W2's alone are insufficient, if you send copies of W2's, then you will also have to send a copy of the ENTIRE tax return (1040 forms, schedules, etc). Tax transcripts eliminate the need to send W2, copies of forms, etc. because all information is contained in the transcripts.

If the petitioner filed taxes for the last 3 years and the forms is calling for those records, submit them. it doesn't matter whether or not you have a joint sponsor (this is from a careful reading and literal interpretation of the form's instructions).

If you have the joint sponsor's tax transcripts, then you don't need the W2's unless the joint sponsor is files taxes jointly with a spouse but is only using their own income to qualify. In that event, yes, the W2's need to go with the transcripts because they separate out the joint sponsor's income from the total income on the transcript.
