Hi,I'm from Bangladesh. We're F-4 ,my mom's brother is the petitioner. Our visa interview is in a few days. But there's a problem. I have had two birth certificates made so far.The first one had 1996 as my birth year, while the second had 1997 in stead.I've made my passport with the second one meaning 1997.All my school certificates had the same year. However, our agent(who's a total good for nothing) accidentally submitted the first one.Now our interview letter has my birth year as 1996,while my passport and every other document says it's 1997.What should I do?Please help, there's not much time left and my mom's going hysterics.

The first birth certificate shouldn't be around a long time ago.

We had sent the second one before the first was submitted, and told the agent several times to submit the second one.For the last 10 years we believed that my second birth certificate was submitted and submitted that while making school certificates. We realized he screwed up with this only when we received the interview letter which has my year of birth as 1996.Now,at the interview should I tell them about it myself, or just not say anything about it unless they ask. And if they do ask what should I answer?

Plus the website of Bangladesh embassy says I have to take my birth certificate.Which should I take? The one with 1996,or the one with 1997?

I would advise you to seek the advice of a lawyer because I know of a close family friend who was banned from entering the United States because of a case such as your's, two different birth dates and certificates.one thing the us embassy hates the most is when you lie.dont give up, seek proffesion al advice on what step to take, your's might be treated differently

Let's start with a couple of questions that you will face from the visa officer. Which BC is correct? And, why do you have two with different dates? And, if you were, in fact, born in 1996, why did you use the one with the later birth date for all your school records just because you thought it was the one submitted to US immigration? f you cannot adequately answer these questions, you will face an uphill battle during the visa interview, as the visa officer will likely suspect that you got the second, fraudulent BC to avoid aging out for the immigrant visa.
