Do I need to file this? This isn't apart of the AOS Form Downloads... Also, how do I get my medical report if my previous docs don't have the records anymore? As in, I was a K-1 now filing for AOS and all of my medical reports went with security when I left at Toronto... They took the entire package. The only thing that I was given was a CD of my xrays...

Do I need to file this? This isn't apart of the AOS Form Downloads... Also, how do I get my medical report if my previous docs don't have the records anymore? usually they give you a copy when you do the medical for the K-1 visa not sure why you didn't get one. In my case my fiance got a copy of the medical report and the immunization record (not sure of the form numbers). When we filed for AOS the records were current seeing as the process is such a long one by the time it got to the local office for processing we were asked to submit an updated I-693 as it had been more than a year since hubby did his medical and they are only good for one year. They gave us 30 days to submit the updated form. You can download the I-693 off the USCIS website and I think it is also available here on VJ (Form Downloads) but that is actually not really necessary as the civil surgeon offices have them and you can get them from there. That was the case with us. Found a list of approved civil surgeons on the uscis website for my area and started calling asking for the price. It can be rather pricey so beware. the cheapest I could find was a doctor who did it for $175 and that is just to fill out the paperwork and do the blood work to ensure that he had all the required shots. while we were there gave them proof of his immunization and they stated since it had been a year from his last physical that he needed to have the TB test redid. that cost $35 more. so we had to leave everything at the doctor's office to wait for them to read the TB test and get the blood results prior to the doctor signing the I-693. 2 days later while we wait they said my husband needed another shot and that would cost $230. took the name of the shot he needed and went to CVS urgent care and got it for free as it was covered under our insurance. took that proof back to the doctor and they signed the form and we mailed it out. a week later his green card was approved.

In our case I had the feeling that by the time they got to processing our case the medical would have been expired but I didn't do another one when I sent in the AOS package thinking that they would have let it slide since at the time we applied for AOS the medicla was still current (wishfull thinking). What I would advise is to get the I-693 done and added to your AOS package to prevent any delay if by chance you have already sent in your package without the immunization form from the medical start doing your research. ensure that all vaccinations are completed and update and documented and start looking into finding civil surgeons in your area for if and when u will need one.

I don't know how else you can prepare for the medical requirement portion of the AOS process. not sure if you can request a copy from them? maybe someone with more knowledge can advise. I do wish you luck because trust me I feel your pain. Best of luck to you in your journey
