extension visa confused

I am so confused now, I applied for extension before my i-94 expired and I asked to extend till july. As I was said by uscis I can stay in usa for 240 days or until uscis makes a decision. Just today I found out that my application was approved and it will be mailed by me. But what does it mean when they approved it after my requested date passed? will they just give me some new date? anybody some EXPERIENCE??

More than likely it's because they're so damn slow. It's happened to people here in the past.

There will be a mandatory exit date on your approval letter, if that date has already passed, you should schedule an infopass appointment at your local USCIS service center and get this straightened out before leaving. If the exit date hasn't passed, you should be prepared to leave by that date.
