A friend of mine is filing for a B2 visa to come to the U.S. from Ethiopia for my graduation soon. The visa entails to show ties to her home country to show she will come back home & not stay in the U.S. My question is, would a letter from her employer stating they will give her time off & expect her back at work in a few months be enough to show home ties, or would she need more documentation? She does not own any homes/cars because she lives with her parents & doesn't currently go to school. So I would like to know if that would be enough to show home ties. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

She can take the employer's letter to the interview with her. Her visa eligibility will be judged on her application, so the CO may or may not consider the letter.

Her ties are weak. Many people leave parents and jobs behind and overstay their visas.

The only way to know is to apply.

Best of luck

Take all the documentation she has.

Perhaps they have much more generous holiday entitlement.
