My fiancee is in the Philippines. We met on a site that isn't an IMB but isn't exactly a dating site. I found the site through FilipinoKisses where I was a member and she wasn't, but it isn't FilipinoKisses. Due to certain cultural reasons, we were considering a declaration that I found her because I was on FilipinoKisses to help protect her honor. Will this be an issue going forward?

Hi I declared on my application that I met my fiancée at Filipinocupid.com also not a IMB but I got an RFE to prove that Filipinocupid.com was not an IMB. I suggest to be honest and before you submit your application contact the website and get evidence that they are not an IMB and include that to your application to avoid an RFE. I believe a lot of people who declared that they met there fiancé/fiancée online has gotten an RFE to prove that the website they met wasn't an IMB. If you include that evidence in your application, I believe you can avoid receiving a RFE. If you don't want to declare it and want to avoid the RFE then you can make up something else which I don't really want to suggest but it's really up to you. Good luck on your journey!

I declared that I met my fiancee in filipinocupid and they sent me an RFE telling me that any site that charges monetary value to get together with someone or an arrangement is considered as an IMB or something along that line so they were asking me the consent that my fiancee signed to filipinocupid that they are authorized to sent out her info or if i can find any documentation that proves filipinocupid is not an IMB. So I emailed the site, I reactivated my account and did a screen shot of the IMBRA survey form they have make sure to fill it out and also the term of conditons of filipinocupid and highlighted section 3 The Service that states they are not an IMB. I emailed the site and they responded back that stated that they are exempt from the IMBRA act.

Hello, I met my Evy in Filipina cupid, in my petition I stated we met in FC and then went on to describe our personal meetings, BUT, I did include the page from their terms of service, and also a email from them stating it is not an IMB, I also wrote my own note stating nit is not an IMB. it went without a hitch, CSC and took only 16 days to get my NOA2 (just days ago). its easy to give this info ahead of time,, HONESTY always works best! do not sugar coat anything.

Well, you cannot lie to USCIS in order to protect her honor, as that would bring you both dishonor. Be honest because IF USCIS or any other government entity asks for proof of where you met, you'll have to show them.
