Does anybody know how long it takes for a physical file to go from egypt to algeria? My case was updated on july 27th saying "transfer in progress" on the 29th it said "ready" with ALG after the case number. It has been more than 2 weeks and no interview appt and they didnt give me a new case number. My congressman got a response from the embassy in Algiers saying they are waiting for the PHYSICAL FILE so they can schedule my appointment. Any help is appreciated!

You get the auto response when you email the embassy in algeria. Right now it seems like some people get lucky and get a quick response and some like me and others i know is taking a little longer to recieve an interview. They didnt ask me about the $4000 but they do want the address for where you plan to live.

They asked where you going to live in Algeria?

also, i don't ge this thing about the physical file. all of the documents i submitted at nvc was electronic. the only thing i submitted physically was when i intially started the procress at uscis. I am sure it shouldn't take long to be there for a physical file, but with yemenis luck, it would take longer than usual.

also, i remember you said it took three weeks for your file to arrive to algeria right? so when did you initally requested the transfer and when did it actually got to algeria? do you have exact dates?

thanks

Thats what they want when they say the physical file; what you submitted to uscis. Ok so i got put on the list of transfers on june 28th. July 6th i received an email from iv yemen saying my case will be transferred. On july 27th my status changed to transfer in progress and on the 29th it changed to ready with ALG at the end. Now im just waiting to hear something. Yes he needs to give them a hotel name and address because some people were sent back for not having this information. Algerian people are some of the nicest people i met but they do have tempers especially when you make them feel stupid or when you dont understand what they say. Its happened to alot of my friends
