Hi I have already posted this is another forum however I didn't get a lot of answers that would help me so I decided to post this here in the hopes that someone could enlightmen me on what to do and expect.

I have just recently realized that I placed a vague and unspecific address as my final address in the US. I left out the building and apartment number when I first filled out the DS 260 online and I wasn't aware of the missed out details which is why during my interview, I didn't bother mentioning it to the consular officer. I understand that whatever appears on my DS 260 and Immigrant Data Summary as address is where they will send the permanent resident card and SS card. Can I just notify the Immigration/CBP officer at the POE that I would like to correct my address? Can I do it with USCIS ELIS too?

Will this cause problems for me during my POE? I am getting really worried. Please help me and share your experiences. Thank you very much.

Immigration says on each letter and email they send out to submit any change of address (or correction)

u need to send in a letter stating you left out the information

Be sure to put your case number, name and birth date on the letter

There is a two-step process to insure your record reflects the correct address:

•Step1: File Form AR-11 (online OR by mail),

AND

•Step 2: Change your address on any pending or recently approved applications or petitions (online OR by phone at 1-800-375-5283)

Use the convenient Online Change of Address system to complete steps 1 and 2 at the same time. Once you complete Form AR-11 online - the system will also provide you the opportunity to change your address on any pending or recently approved applications. If you use the Online Change of Address to complete Form AR-11, you do NOT need to file a paper Form AR-11.

Thank you so much. However, I am still in the Philippines and have not done my POE. Filing Form AR-11 requires me an entry date right? Is there any way an Immigration/CBP official could correct the mistake when I point out the error? I have read some that say the same. And also, do I have to file AR-11 when I'm already there even if I get my green card in the corrected address? I'm sorry for all the questions. I will be travelling alone on IR2 visa that's why I'm anxious...

Why not get an online address in the US then go to the US Post Office website and do a forward any mail to it?

This way, you won't need any changes and will see the mail online (they scan it) and then ship it to you if you want to any address worldwide (since you are in the PI now).

I intend to file my DCF and give them my online address coz I don't live in the US now but in PI.

Notify the Immigration officer at POE when you arrive. Plus there is no harm in going online and submitting a change of address with USCIS.

The absolute easiest way to update your address in online here: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do

Mail from USCIS is not forwarded, it would be returned... thus no green card. Best to use your online address for your mailing address with all documents.

I would agree with Hank. If the USCIS mail goes to one address only (no forwarding) then this won't work.

Some mail cannot be forwarded (stamped on envelop).

Hence, do the address change at the USCIS website!

Thanks for the correction!
