AP right after interview?

Interview was on July 27. They told him everything looks good, they just need one document and to send it in with his passport. This is the jerusalem consulate. They received the document and passport on the 29th, but out case has been in AP since right after the interview on the 27th. They didn't even give him a 221g or anything, just told him to send in the document. My question is, how long will this last? I knkw no one can tell, but usually how long? Completely normal. AP is the status they use when the case is pending on some documents or when it's being issued. They may run some SAO's, (Security Advisory Opinons), which could add some weeks. But if they say it's good to go, it probably is. CR-1 and K-1 denials are very rare - about 1% of the petitions each year. No time frame for AP to end - but you should be good.

But to answer your real question (Doink!), I've read that some SAO's can take three to six months, but there are different levels of SAO's and they are only run if the CO decides to order them. Certain ones can be finished in a few weeks or days. So IF any SOA's were run in your case, it could add a few weeks. Our's only lasted five weeks. You might be surprised and get your visa issued tomorrow!!
