Hi Friends,

My wife doesn't work but recieves SSI so I got a family friend to sign the affidavit of support, he makes only $25,015.17 a year, he's single and has no dependents.

My concern is will my wife be counted as part of the sponsors household size making a total of 3 or will it just be me and the sponsor making just 2 people.

hi

no, she is not counted as his household

but she has to file an i864 as sponsor regardless, so you and her is counted as household size

and your friend will file an i864 as her joint sponsor and count him or her and you as the beneficiary

so either way, on both i864, the count Is 2

No. Your joint sponsors household is him and who he is sponsoring you so just 2. So he makes over the guideline that's all that matters.

Your wife still need to fill out the USCIS I-186 form since she is receiving SSI which also count as income and the sponsor will fill out one also to meet the minimum income requirement in the poverty guidelines.
