Conditional Permanent Resident Work Permit

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know if i need to apply/get an EAD or work permit if my current status is Conditional Permanent Resident.?

I just applied for a CPR Card...

no, you are a LPR, only that you have a 2 year GC but the rights and responsibilities are the same

All i have to do is to wait for my CPR Card... i read that it could take 2 to 3 months for me to receive the card..

did you have consular processing or did you adjust status in the US?

if you went through consular processing,, did you pay the $165 for the card? you also have the stamp in your passport for 1 year or until you receive your GC

Yes it can take up to 3months before you get your conditional permanent resident card but that doesn't mean you don't have a permanent resident status. Your immigrant visa you got overseas acts as evidence of permanent residency for 1 year after it is endorsed when you're admitted in the United States by a CBP officer. For the meantime you can still go apply for a social security card if you don't have it yet and use your machine readable immigrant visa as proof for employment and other proof of residency purposes. You don't need a work permit, you're permanent resident.
