My fiancé had her apendix removed and also a cyst back in 2011. Has a long scar across her tummy. I had her go to the hospital and get her medical records for this procedure as I knew they would ask at SLEC. Had day 1 of her medical yesterday and sure enough they asked for her records. They were not satisfied with the records that she brought and requested she go back to Ormoc and bring back a biopsy report. I would have thought they copied everything for my fiancé. Now I must fly her back tomorrow morning and hand the paper from st Luke's to the ormoc hospital and hope they have this document that is requested. If they do not, I m at a loss for what to do. Has anyone had this situation happen where they could not get the requested document I just have this feeling that if one was filled out, it would have been copied for her already

I bet you are so frustrated. I had something similar happen to us when we were doing the NBI. We thought we had everything resolved two months before her interview so that she wouldn't have any problems and low and behold, wouldn't you know it. The main computer in the Manila offices of NBI did not show the update and so we had to wait for a 221(g) then fly back to Manila, after just being their 2 weeks earlier to show all the documentation to the NBI office in Manila (which is what we did 2 months prior in Mindanao just so we could avoid this) get her record updated and then returned back to USEM.

So I feel your pain.

I can't say for sure what will happen but you may want to get on the phone and call SLEC (+63 2) 524-0478 (For follow-up inquiries & results of referrals, laboratory results, and others) and ask all your questions.

I wish you luck.

My fiance had a similar situation. SLEC will need a 'doctor's certificate' . We provide papers documenting her condition and her treatment which they seemed to accept but at the last minute said no not enough, need a doctor's certificate. Dr charged 500 pesos for the document. I havent seen it so not sure what it contains.

Better get this while youre there

Is there any way somebody, like her mom or any family member, to process it in Ormoc and just have it faxed over to St. Lukes or to your fiancee? Double check with SLEC if this is possible, if not you both don't have a choice but to fly her back to Ormoc.

I'm really not sure and I've learned to just go with the flow and try to get what they ask for There is no changing their minds when they want something. I'm just glad we were able to satisfy their request and still keep our interview on the 30th of July

It so nice we have to pay US prices to see a doctor in Philippine, and then they can't figure out what a scar is.

Some of the doctors in SLEC need a throat punch...
