My husband is Italian, but moved to the Italian part of Switzerland when he was 10. He holds passports for both, but we now live in Amsterdam. Just found out that his Foreign State Chargeability is Italy, so for all intents and purposes he is Italian but we will be dealing with the Dutch Embassy.

American girl and Swiss/Italian boy who met in San Francisco in 2009, moved to Amsterdam in 2014 and married in Switzerland in 2015. Both living and filed for CR-1 from abroad. (L)

My wife is a Serbian national but moved to Italy over 10 years ago. When I first signed up on VJ I was debating which country to put, but since my wife is a resident and has been living and working in Italy for the past 10 + years, you might as well call her an Italian.

We've been following your timeline since we joined VJ (we subscribed to it...hehe?) and being Italian must really put us in the same boat for processing times! You guys are a month ahead of us but we've been following a very similar trend for your processing times from USCIS through NVC. I really hope we follow in your CC trend, you guys went so fast! :D

Thank you! We hope our VJ has been a trend setter.

No, we have been in a long distance relationship since day 1. We get to see each other three or four times a year; but being in a long distance marriage is on a totally different level and has not been easy at times. Yes, thankfully our visa journey has been going pretty fast. .

Fortunately you guys have been living together throughout your relationship, and I know you're eager to start your new married life together in the US.

Ah, I see...I should've guessed you were long distance, because it would've been easier to do direct consular filing via Rome. But you're making strides already! Literally you're almost finished..Best of luck! :D

Anybody who already attended to the interview in Naples? I read already the review about our embassy, I just wanted to know from somebody else :)

Not yet, but my wife has an upcoming interview on October 7th. Will let you know her experience.

Our petition has been approved last Friday!! :) October 2nd!

How long does it take to get to NVC? And I would like to know if the Embassy in Naples contacted you once they got the case, or you had to contact me to be sure they received it?

Congratulations!

It normally takes 14 days for the NVC to receive your case from the service center. I would start calling the NVC around October 14th to see if they have received your case. If not, keep calling every other day until you get word that they received your case. After that you normally ahve to wait another 12 to 14 days for both your case and Invoice ID numbers to be assigned.

We never received word from Naples when they received our case. Instead our status changed on the CEAC website to "READY" which will indicate when the consulate has received and scanned your case into their system.

My wife had her medical done this morning and tomorrow is her interview.
