Interview Scheduling Details

Hi All,

So the NVC received my case mid December of last year, and completed my case on March 31, 2015. I have yet to get an interview for Ankara, Turkey. I call the NVC occasionally, but I always get the same response along these lines: "Looks like your case is still in the process of waiting for an interview to be scheduled. All you can do is be patient." I was told that every month (sometimes more than once a month), the embassy will tell the NVC how many slots they have open for CR1 visas, and then the NVC will schedule the cases they have on a first come first serve basis, based on the date that the case was completed.

On the US Embassy website for Ankara, you can check to see which cases are scheduled for interviews. I was told it's first come first serve, but a large majority of the CR1 cases were received by the NVC in February or later (you can tell by the case number). It's a bit frustrating to see cases that were received by the NVC 2+ months later than mine are actually "ahead" of me when it comes to getting an interview. I haven't had any issues with my CR1 case thus far, so what could cause those later cases to reach case completion sooner than mine? Although this is more for my own curiosity, I think I'm just frustrated at all of the waiting me and my wife have had to do. It's been over a year since we first applied, so its become harder and harder to stay patient. : (

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I say email the IV Unit, tell them you are ready for your interview, asking them to request your casefile from NVC.
